ChatGPT integration
In brief
UI form configuration in Developer Mode (no JSON to paste). Requires ChatGPT Plus/Pro/Business/Enterprise/Edu.
Prerequisites
- ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise or Edu subscription
- Developer Mode enabled in settings
- AskMarcel API key (ak_live_) or linked account
Enable Developer Mode

Open settings
ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode → ON.

Create custom connector
New connector → Remote MCP server.
Configure connector

Name
AskMarcel (or your choice).

Server URL
https://mcp.askmarcel.app

Authentication
Bearer token: paste your ak_live_ key (created at app.askmarcel.app/developers).
Use in a conversation
Enable the AskMarcel connector in the chat. Ask for an HVAC diagnostic — ChatGPT will call available MCP tools.
Plus/Pro limitation
Plus and Pro subscriptions can only call read-only tools (search, get_error_code, get_procedure…). diagnose requires Pro+ or Business.
Verify it works
Ask "What AskMarcel tools do you have?". ChatGPT should list connected MCP tools.
Known limitations
- Developer Mode required — not available on free tier
- Plus/Pro: read-only tools only
- No JSON config format — everything via UI form
